What do you think of Obama sending more troops to Afghanistan?

Personally I feel like it was a good idea, thats where the terrorists are anyway.

    Well, it's really a double-edged sword.

If he does send more troops to A-stan, he not only helps to bolster the economy of America, but also helps Canada (a few friends of mine are in the regular forces of the CAF). However, the world will probably be pissed, and resources will end up being diverted from more major localized problems such as disaster relief and stopping the drug trade.

If he does withdraw, it will satisfy hundreds of millions of people, but many will be out of work (munitions workers, uniform suppliers, and the soldiers themselves) and that doesn't help at all in this time of economic downturn. Not to mention, it will hurt the USA-Canada relationship, since they're leaving us to take care of what's left of A-stan, and by my personal knowledge, our army isn't really equipped for prolonged combat against a relentless enemy. However, it also means more resources will be focused on major issues.

It all depends on what happens in the world next.
Being at DefCon-4 doesn't help much at all.

    Good luck taking over China.
The Asian brute force will have millions of people to use as meat shields, millions with guns and millions more bullets for those who can use them, as well as people who can kung-fu a tank crew into pieces. For crying out loud, if they'll stand in front of rolling tanks, they'll stand in front of anything.

well, considering more people are born every second than they can train at that rate, they have a surplus of soldiers to throw at us. Can you imagine an infinite stream of soldiers running at you?
